STROLL

Today, we took the girls out to play in the park this beautiful evening. On another hand, we're making some little changes here at the blog side, so you might encounter awkward margin or unaccessible pictures. Do send us your feedback if you prefer big pictures or smaller as we're always experimenting the layout all the time to find the perfect one (yet). There will quite a sum of casual and easy tops coming in store this week and the prices will be lower if you've noticed (it's the sales period again!) so do feel free to come up and say hi!

Love,
Destiny

BLEACH DENIM DIY

I have a few good old high waist shorts but even if it's summer, they haven't been seeing the lights quite as often. On another hand, I have been in vain searching for a pair of white bottoms in retail stores. These two problems seem to come just in time for a DIY.

Vintage Benny Ong peach top, DIY white shorts, retro earrings, white cutout shoes from Jusco

Sometimes, vintage isn't all about eccentric patterns and loud flowers. Many possess a misconception that vintage means baggy or lots of fabric. After being quite a while doing this, I realize that some of the best vintage pieces don't even look vintage at all! And you don't really have to wear vintage like as if you've just jumped out of a page of the history book. For this case, I couldn't find a better example other than this Benny Ong peach top. I stumbled upon a Benny Ong's years ago when I just started the store, and he happens to be a famous Singaporean fashion designer who owns his own fashion line and even the late Princess Diana was his frequent customer! It's amazing that it can be this simple and relaxed, yet in such a contemporary manner. I would have believed that this is considered futuristic in the past. You'll think I'm bluffing when I say this is vintage, not until you touch the fabric to be convinced!

SINEMA @ OLD SCHOOL

Today we took the last tour back up at Mount Sophia Old School for the last screening of Hachiko at Sinema. It was really an emotional one as personally, I've been at this place numerous times for school trips and gallery visitings but this place will be soon be torn down for new urban development. I'm not sure if you guys have been to Old School before but if you still haven't, please do take your time to climb up the stairs up to the hill from Dhoby Ghaut and capture the last memory of this beautiful quiet place. Thank you very much to my dear Joanne for the invitation and Kerry from Deal.com.sg for doing a great job for this last opportunity. It's beyond words of gratefulness for commercial companies paying attention to the local art scene and almost forgotten places back to the community. And being an art student myself, this means so much, so much to us.

OMBRE DYEING DIY

We have this beautiful vintage embroidery blouse but the color has faded and the fabric is far below mint condition. So I've been wanting to give this blouse a new life. The first part will be the entire dyeing of the blouse for a fresh new color while the second part involves gradient submerging. I personally prefer muted colors for boho blouses, and this blouse looks normal in the pictures. But in real it's really crumpled and dull and close to being thrown away. So here's to break the boundaries, unconventional approach and DIY fun!
